USS Constellation Ship Models. USS Constellation was a 38-gun frigate and the first ship to be commissioned in the United States Navy. She was distinguished as the first U.S. Navy vessel to put to sea and the first U.S. Navy vessel to engage, defeat, and capture an enemy vessel. It took hundreds of man hours to complete this model. This model ship is fully assembled and ready for display. It was specially designed by joining multiple small pieces of yellow and black woods together onto the hull. The hull is built from cherry wood. When shipping the model is placed into a wooden frame which in turn is placed into a rigid carton box. It is then double boxed with foam between both boxes for maximum protection. Dimensions: 38"(long) x 34"(tall) x 12"(wide).
